A powerful competitor for the Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane and Ford Focus, the Toyota Auris was first launched by the parent company as a replacement of the Corolla Hatchback.

An interesting story related to the launch of the Auris says that Toyota had to postpone the release of the car because Honda, the other great Japanese car maker, brought out the Civic.

So the Auris was officially launched but it didn't have too many advanced features except the ones installed on Corolla.
